Venue Address:

Whitby Pavillion
West Cliff
Whitby, YO21 3EN

By Car:

Most people travel by car – and in October the parking situation isn’t bad, much better than in the summer.

Many guesthouses will offer you scratchcards for parking on the roads nearby (50p per day currently), or the venue has its own car parks and there is also West Cliff car park just over the road, – these charge £9 for 24 hours, and multi-day permits can be bought either in person from the Tourist Information Centre (now moved to The Harbour Office, Langborne Rd, Whitby YO21 1YN) or by phone in advance (01723 383636). Parking charges apply 9.00am-6.00pm.

Bus:

By bus – the Coastliner Leeds, York, Malton to Whitby is useful – check times etc here:

Train

If you plan to come by train, consider travelling to Scarborough then get a bus X93 (approx. £5.50) or taxi (approx. £28) to Whitby.

Most train journey planners take you via Middlesbrough to Whitby (the route follows the Esk Valley through some stunning countryside with wooded valleys, bridges and of course, the river Esk itself) but this may limit your options as there are only 4 trains a day – (leaving Middlesbrough at approx. 7.00, 10.30, 14.00, 17.30).
