Well it's all beginning to come together for 2008 festival. We've been down to visit the venue several times recently and although it's still a building site it looks like it will all be ready for the opening event there at the end of May when top Indie band The Pigeon Detectives take to the stage.....With all the spaces within the building now becoming more clearly defined we are becoming more excited about the possibilities it affords... There will be a separate DJ/film area/ chill out , a large workshop space, a visual arts area/ acoustic stage, a childrens/young persons activity space as well as the main hall and the 650 seat theatre. As well as a separate market hall we aim to have some stalls in the main hall as we have always done . The fringe festival will no doubt happen but where and when remains to be seen. One new innovation (still requiring finalising) will be a late night festival club which will allow members to meet the artists and witness some impromtu performances.

We have booked the wondrous TransGlobal Underground to play there on Friday 4th July(see our events diary) which will perhaps be good chance for you to check out the venue in advance of October and hopefully contribute to our final plans for this years main event.
